Open Course – Design Competition

With the support of Progetto Manifattura, the design competition is open to European Master students in Architecture and Engineering. Four teams will compete to transform an existing building into a Near Nearly-Zero Energy Building, using their own tools and methods and completing the project in the allotted time period.

The aim of competition is to rethink the building envelope, the systems strategies, and the distribution of internal environments. The winner will be the team that manages to interpret the redesign with the best quality architecture, energy efficiency and liveability. The winner of Open Course will be decided by an international jury. The winning team will receive a cash prize and participation as speakers at the international REbuild Conference in Riva del Garda, Italy, 26 to 27 November 2013. The prize will cover the conference fees, as well as room and board for two students of the team plus a faculty member.
