Research on original colors and decoration

In October and November experts performed tests on the external walls and some internal rooms of the Zigherane building. The investigation was performed to reveal the layers of paint and to discover, if possible, the original colors and decorations used.

An analysis of the external walls revealed that the original colors were dark red on around the window recesses and light gray around the protruding/trim areas. Knowing the original colors will help in making design decisions about how to restore the building. Regarding internal rooms, stenciled floreal and geometric decorations were discovered on the second floor.
